| Q & A with Hydee Q: Where does your artist name come from? A: I got the name HYDEE from a buddy of mine, one day he told me he grabbed some crazy HYDEE, meaning HYDRO so i took it upon myself to use it as my MC name!!!! Q: Tell us more about your musical roots! A: Music's been in my life since i was born, my dad was a musician and i picked up the drums when i was about 11 played in a bunch of bands ranging from alternative to punk and hardcore. I Discovered jungle back in 96 and shortly after that began Mcing, then picked up the love for the turntables around 2000 from my boy DJ CLIX, I started to buy records, and I've been mcing and spinning beats ever since. About Late last year i started going to my best mates house Stick Bubbly and started to learn the program and production of jungle / drum n bass!!! Q: How did you start producing music? A: About Late last year i started going to my best mates house Stick Bubbly and just wanted to learn the program and production of jungle / drum n bass. We started making beats together and now im learning as we speak about how to make beats. Q: Are you also a DJ? A: Yes I am Q: Do you work together with other artists also? E.g. Remixes? A: just with my boi Stick the mutha fuckin Bubbly ahhahaha Q: Do you have any special musical aims? A: Just wanna show the world my skill and love of music, whether its my beats, spinnin or mcing!!!! Q: What do you think of the contemporary popular music which is played by normal radio stations? A: Well all this what ever so called New Hip Hop on the radio is a joke, none if it is real and all fake and in for the money, that stuff is what gets me on how its so popular and making so much money!! Other than that, im game for some new rock or punk as long as it sounds good, but to each his own!!!! Q: What have you read recently (book, play, film, etc.) that moved or surprised you? A: OLDSCHOOL all the way!!!! but really anything with Will Ferrel is GOLD!!!! Q: What is your all-time favorite track? Why? A: WOW i couldnt even tell you!!! Too many good tracks to name, but anything from my boi's Stick Bubbly and Everest are gold!! Q: What's one thing you're a fan of that people might not expect? A: i dont own turntables |
